Russian Businesswoman Supports Ukrainian Who Fled to Japan

NIIGATA: A Russian money manager in Japan has become an underwriter for a Ukrainian investor who moved to Japan from his home country.

Maria Karasawa married a member of the founding team of a metalworking business in Tsubame, Niigata Prefecture, shortly after arriving in Japan. Karasawa stated that she was discouraged by her home nation's attack on its less wealthy neighbor.

Karasawa, 47, accepted the position of president of the family business in 2019 after the sudden death of her significant other.For about a year, Karasawa had communicated online with Vadym Malovyk, a 48-year-old resident of the Dnipropetrovsk Territory in eastern Ukraine. He informed her that he needed to relocate to Japan at harvest time.

The head of the organization says she is thinking about hiring Malovyk as a worker based on how well he can learn Japanese. She worked with the Tsubame civil government to make Malovyk's June 2 movement go smoothly.When Karasawa found out that Russia had invaded Ukraine, she said she couldn't stop crying. I inquired as to the reason behind the invasion because I have numerous Ukrainian friends.

Through a Christian church in Tsubame, the money manager claims to have sent Ukraine winter clothing and other items.During a Thursday press conference at the Tsubame City Lobby, Karasawa and Malovyk discussed their shared belief that there are no boundaries between them. They also conveyed a desire to send messages from Japan urging harmony.


Karasawa said, "Malovyk is my companion." I'll support him as much as I can."


Malovyk stated, Japan has been peaceful for a long time, and I need to work there to help recognize that in my home country. I'm willing to tell Japanese citizens about my encounters in Ukraine."
